YCAB
This project is completed.
Drug abuse is an increasing problem in Indonesia, contributing to widespread crime and disease. YCAB is a foundation which serves to combat this epidemic among Indonesia’s youth, through awareness, education, and prevention. YCAB conducts interactive campaigns across Indonesia in public and private schools, private companies, religious organizations, and various groups in the community.
Another objective of YCAB is the vocational training of people from impoverished backgrounds in order that they might acquire lasting employment opportunities. Rumah Belajar Cinta Anak Bangsa (RBCAB) was established on November 3rd, 2003 and serves as a vocational learning center. Several classes, such as beauty, computer, and English classes, are offered at RBCAB, providing students with the skills needed to obtain employment. In 2004, RBCAB’s first complete year of operation, 445 students attended classes, and many have found success in their elected vocation. Wellspring was given the opportunity to support this initiative and has sponsored 55 students for the cost of the computer program classes. In 2006 Wellspring is continuing to partner with YCAB in the expansion of RBCAB and specifically for the provision of education and necessary skills to women of impoverished backgrounds.
